ME 82CMY

The
first Marlow Explorer 82 Cockpit Motor Yacht was delivered in
late fall of 2006. Built for a customer who is an avid deep sea
fisherman and ocean traveler, this yacht is equipped to take you
virtually anywhere in the world in comfort and luxury. The extended
cockpit features a 40" transom door for hauling in "the big one" or easy
egress on a transom-in docking situation. The optional Release fighting
chair, Eskimo ice machine, rod holders, tackle center, auxiliary
controls, cockpit-activated winch make the science of fishing an art
form. The tackle center is built with same perfect joiner work and
beauty as the interior cabinets and the 75-gallon bait tank with
aeration pump and Lexan viewing port complete this working area of the
ME 82CMY. With 3,000 gallons of fuel, 400 gallons of domestic water
(with 900 gallon per day Sea Recovery watermaker) and 100 gallons of
drinking water, stops between fishing grounds are cut to a minimum if
not eliminated entirely.

Marlow
Yachts has embraced Resin Infusion from the earliest days of research
and development in this field. We are one of a very small number
of manufacturers worldwide who have mastered and installed the
technology on major molded components. Some boast of infusion however,
when examined it is found to be small, inconsequential components rather
than hulls and decks. It is our intention to continue the development of
this and other exciting technologies in an ongoing quest to build the
most efficient, strong and timeless yachts available.
All
the items Marlow Yachts have come to be known for that signify the very
best will be clearly seen on this new Marlow Explorer. The perfection of
complex master molds allow dark colored hulls without a blemish. The
Schwepper door hardware from Germany's top manufacturer, Grohe's
Infinity series, lifetime warranted bath and galley fixtures bear
witness to the builders commitment to be the best.
On
the exterior, exotic custom 316L stainless steel hardware, railings and
fittings, hand crafted in their own world class metal shop provide the
final touches to her stunning looks. In the gleaming white
Awlgripped and air conditioned engine room, with more than 6'5"
headroom, super duty drive train components worthy of much larger
vessels will provide the propulsive force through the Marlow proprietary
Strut Keels that provide great protection for the running gear. Like
feathers on an arrow, these innovative components provide the straight
tracking in inclement weather Marlow Explorers are famous for. The
proprietary sea chest system that filters the water before it enters the
yacht and distributes far more water than required is a major component
of the mechanical systems. Combined with the common drain system, this
innovative answer to cooling supply and discharge eliminate as many as
35 holes in the bottom and side of the yacht. Polished stainless piping
and custom fittings in the engine room and bilges will once again set
this new yacht apart from the run of the mill production offerings. High
volume pumps, True Sine Wave inverters and other features will grace
this new entry as they do on all Marlow Products from the Prowler series
through the 86' version soon to be launched.
Generators enclosed in custom Lexan see
through sound shields allow a visual check each time the engine room is
entered without dismantling the enclosures.
This exciting new 82CMY is powered by the
optional C30 Caterpillar engines and attained speeds of over 31 knots on
sea trials in light ship condition. These 1500 horsepower Cats are
mounted, as befits the very best, on polished Stainless Steel engine
beds spanning from the forward bulkhead to the custom watertight entry
door aft.
The
interior arrangement is semi-custom to owners taste, spacious and
sensibly arranged with three or four staterooms including a master suite
twenty feet wide featuring an abundance of large dovetailed drawers and
cedar lined lockers. Aft crew quarters may be incorporated, as well as
a private staircase to the master suite if desired. A very comfortable
enclosed Command Bridge, inclusive of dual helm chairs and complete
entertainment center is outfitted with the best in appliances and
logical storage.
All
wood used in the interior spaces are strictly cosmetic, as opposed
to structural as seen in common yacht construction. Beneath the old
world craftsmanship lies aircraft grade polypropylene honeycomb in lieu
of common plywood. This feature alone removes nearly 3000 performance
robbing pounds from the structure while lowering the center of gravity
significantly. Each teak interior is hand crafted to exquisite detail
from a single log which is hand picked in Myanmar, Thailand and
neighboring countries to ensure that the grain, color and grade are
consistent throughout the yacht. Optional cherry, maple, and high gloss
finish are offered, as well.
All logs are fully processed at Marlow
Yachts' state of the art mill shop located in the environmentally
conscious Marlow Norsemen Shipyard where it is Marlow's intent to
replant approximately ten trees for each one harvested. To fully utilize
the resource, the wood shavings from the mill are used as fuel to power
water heating and cooking facilities with the resulting ash used as
natural fertilizer for the extensively landscaped twenty five acre
facility.
